The sign is in the yard

Well, the sign is in the yard. We have had some interest so hopefully we can sell and be in C-Town by the end of the summer? Keeping the house clean with four little ones is um......... not the easiest thing I have ever had to do :)

Last weekend as we were playing outside a car drove by and took a flyer. They drove by a few more times then drove down the cul-de-sac next to us and it seemed they were looking at the back yard. About that time Carson comes up to me and asked me to buckle his pants. Yep, he had just relieved himself off the back porch. I would love to have heard the conversation in their car... hahaha :) I love little boys!!!!

Christmas 2008

I don't know how it is possible for a family to feel as loved as we do by our family & friends. Another year has gone by and once again God has provided beyond our wildest dreams. Each of our boys had a special gift under the tree provided by our sweet church family. We don't have any problem with having the kids believe in Santa ( although I can not lie to them if they ask) however, it has been neat to see how God has taught them through these tight financial times just where every gift comes from. They have seen the hand of God provide through our church, family, friends & strangers. Our eyes will forever be opened to the struggles of families who have experienced what we have been through the last 6 months. As much as I would like to forget some of it ... I hope I never do. Thank you God for your grace and love and most of all for your ultimate gift of your Son Jesus!

God knows....

Cooper's class at school had a Christmas party last week. We had been told weeks before that we were assigned green beans. Cooper was worried that I would forget ( wonder why.. haha) and I promised him I would not! Later that week I went up to the school to help the other moms prepare gingerbread houses for the kids to decorate. I overheard them talking about the party and heard them say that they were going to have to bring a pan and find a way to heat the green beans b/c someone had just sent cans in. I told them we were down for green beans and not to worry about it, I would bring in enough for everyone so they would not have to heat any up. Cooper overheard me telling Adam about the conversation and he told me not to worry, he had already taken two cans of green beans to school. It was Cooper :) I told him that was sweet, but Mommy would bring them heated for the party. However, the day of the party Carson was very sick and I could not leave the house. God already knew that... they heated up the cans Cooper brought in days earlier and all was well.

Adam is still working with Aflac, but has recently taken a job that will require us to move. We are so very thankful to God for a job! It is still in sales, but is a regular pay job. Not commission based like we have been used to... so we are thankful during these times to be able to count on a certain salary. However, what I have learned through everything we have been through is it is ALL provided by the Lord. We would not have chosen the way he provided for us the last 6 months, but we were taken care of. Every need meet... every single one. God has been so faithful to us. Thank you, Jesus!

Election Day

Tuesday morning I told Carson & Caleb that we were going with Daddy to vote. I could not believe how excited they were about it and knew they had no clue what we were doing. I spent a fair amount of time explaining an election and why we vote and felt like I had done a pretty good job. Then as we were loading up in the van Carson asked me if he was going to have his own paddle. Paddle? What was he thinking in his little head..... you guessed it. He thought we were going to get on a boat. haha :)

Pumpkin Patch Video

We had such a good time with our church family at the Pumpkin Patch this year! After picking out our pumpkins, we enjoyed a hay ride then roasted hotdogs & made smores. We all had a blast!

Cooper & Brice Imitating our worship leader Dwayne Moore :)

AFLAC

Well, it's official. Adam is now a independent sales associate for Aflac. He is excited and we are thankful for the opportunity. It is however, a solely commission job so we are praying and trusting God as he begins this new career! We have felt so loved and cared for during this time... words cannot express our gratitude for the prayers and support. We have been humbled and lifted up at the same time and have felt the hand of God carrying us through as we realized we can do nothing apart from Christ. In Christ alone!

I am way too busy!

Brice & Cooper are getting in the school groove. Most days they get up ready and excited ( well that might be overstating a bit) to go to school. However yesterday Cooper woke up on the wrong side of the bed and was in a horrible mood. As we were getting his stuff together he told me he had decided not to go today. I explained that it was not a choice he was going to school. To that he said " Mom please, just call them and tell them I am too busy to go today!" haha. He is so much like his Mama it is scary :)

Two Down, Two To Go :)

Well... it's official. We have a 2nd grader & a Kindergartner. It was mixed emotions this morning as part of me was glad to see my big man Coop going off to school, and the other part that cannot believe I just put my baby on a bus. Coop was very excited this morning. Brice was a cool cat.

I feel better at least knowing that "big brother" is going to be near. Oh well... I am off to cuddle with Carson before Caleb wakes up.

Camp Rock 2008

This has been a very busy weekend. Brice & Adam headed out Thursday to go to our church's kids camp at Camp Winnataska in Pell City, Al. Before Adam and Brice left on Friday Brice told me he just knew that the next few days were going to be "the best days of his life so far"... so far? haha Adam slept on the top bunk bed and Brice was on the bottom. Brice enjoyed having some one on one time with Dad.

Cooper, Carson, Caleb and myself came to join them for the day on Friday. We canoed, swam, navigated a ropes course and worshiped together with our friends.

During worship you could look out into the woods and see hundreds of lightning bugs. I couldn't help but think of what an awesome God we serve that He thought to put a light in the "hinney" of a bug. :) What a wonderful time we had. It was a full weekend and everyone is exhausted!

For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. Romans 1:20

The Ultimate Intersession

Today Cooper was sent to his room to await the consequence of his poor behavior. Before I could get up to his room to administer the consequence I was slipped a note. As I read it tears filled my eyes. It read... Mom Pleas do not give Cooper a pop - from Brice
I realized we are so blessed to have so many interceding on our behalf. Those who love our family and bring our needs with us to our Savior Jesus. Then I was reminded of the ultimate intersession. The price that Jesus paid for my sin. A Son to his Father... a request that the punishment not be carried out on me, but on Him. What a gift. Also, how great that we are encouraged to bring the needs of others to Him in prayer. How often we are blessed by seeing God work in the lives of those around us. God is good to give us these "teachable" moments to remind us of his grace, love & promises.

He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. Hebrews 7:25

Peach Rash

Okay... you have to know my kiddos to understand why this is so funny. Our boys are all about anything gross. I used to try to fight it, but now ( except for the dinner table) I usually just laugh and go on. Friday morning we went to pick up Adam in Clanton, Al after his car had broken down on his way home from Columbus. It was a stressful morning as we hurried to get Adam back to Birmingham for another interview. As we passed the large peach water tower in Clanton the boys started laughing. I knew something was coming. Then one of them said " Hey guy's... it looks like a big bottom with a rash on it" They all erupted with laughter.... I have to admit, I did too! :)

Lemonade Stand :)

I had to share this...

Today at the water park I overheard Brice telling one of his friends that in 14 days his Dad would not have a job and we would not have a lot of money, but he added ... we will be fine. To this his friend said " What do you mean?" Brice explained again. Then his friend said " I know what we are going to do.... we will have a lemonade stand!" :) It was so very precious.

God has been working in all kinds of ways. Adam is going to Columbus tomorrow to talk to someone about a job there and has another interview here in Birmingham on Friday. We know that we will be the most content in His will. Wherever He leads we will go.

Beach 2008 Photo Slide Show

We started out our trip with a visit to Columbus. It was GREAT to see Aunt Sarah, John Thomas, Georgia & Stephen. We missed Uncle Billy :( We played all day at Papa & Lovee's then crashed at Meme & Grandaddy's at night. Good times. Then we headed down to FL. I always said I wasn't going to be one of those Mom's who would get upset when the kids ask over and over "Are we there yet?" Guess what.... I am! After the 100th time I told them they were no longer allowed to ask that question to which Cooper replied " Hey Mom... are we any closer?" haha .We all had a good laugh :)

(more to come later)

Perfect Peace

I don't know what to say... A very gracious family from our church offered to let us go to Fl with them for a few days this past week. It was such a huge blessing to be able to get away and relax a bit. We had a wonderful time hanging out with our friends, playing in the pool, riding jet ski's, riding go-karts and most of all just enjoying time with each other. As I sat on the sand starring into the vast ocean I thought of the verse in Isaiah 26:3:

You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in You.

Lord, help me to remain in You, trust in You, & love You more and more each day!

"SPLENDA of the KING"

God has been so good to us. Even in the midst of family trials we have felt his hand. We have been provided for in ways we could not have dreamed. Last Monday night was our ladies bible study. It meets here at our house. As they came in each one of them carried in bags & bags & bags of groceries. Our pantry, Freezer & Fridge are all full. My faith was increased by God's provision through them. What a gift.

One of the ladies brought in a big bag of "Splenda" sweetener. (I love my unsweet tea with splenda! :) On Tuesday morning when the kids came in you would have thought it was Christmas. They were as overwhelmed as we were at everything that was brought. Brice remembers Christmas when a similar blessing occurred and he immediately reminded his Little brothers how God provided. It did my heart good to hear. Then Brice broke into song while holding the bag of Splenda sweetener. Here is how his version of Chris Tomlin's song "How Great is our God" went....

The "Splenda" of the King :

The "Splenda" of the King,
clothed in majesty
Let all the earth rejoice
All the earth rejoice

He wraps himself in Light,
and darkness tries to hide
And trembles at His voice
Trembles at His voice

How great is our God,
sing with me
How great is our God,
and all will see How great, how great is our God

Age to age He stands
And time is in His hands
Beginning and the end
Beginning and the end

The Godhead Three in One
Father Spirit Son
The Lion and the Lamb
The Lion and the Lamb

Name above all names
Worthy of all praise
My heart will sing
How great is our God

It made us all laugh and worship all at the same time.

How great is our God!

"Congratulations" Ceremony

I have decided to start writing down all the crazy stuff that happens around our house. This will mainly be for me so I can remember these things. I wish I had done it from the beginning, but oh well better late than never right? The school year is winding down and summer is about to begin. Fun, Fun.

Cooper has preschool graduation tomorrow and he has told us over and over he does not want to go to the "Congratulation". :) He likes school when he gets there, but tells us he would rather be at home. It makes me feel good.

Cooper also said yesterday that we had way to many people in our family, but he added " but I wouldn't want to get rid of any of us...haha

Brice is getting more and more grown up looking every day. The other day in the van Adam was being silly and asked me to give him a kiss (you know I am not one for public affection) and from the back we hear Brice and he says " Oh Dad... she's just not in the mood" You wonder where they pick up on these things. I have only said that to the kids when I have been upset. I do recall saying " I am not in the mood for your... attitude, whining, fighting etc. It made us all laugh!

Christmas Morning

Kids See Christmas Gifts for the first time. We had been preparing the kids for a pretty small Christmas and God provided ( on Christmas Eve)beyond our wildest dreams. Praise God. The gifts serve as a constant reminder of his love & provision. Not only does he meet our every "need" ... from time to time He chooses to provide a "want" or two.

Notice the smudge & fingerprints on the door & windows? Four littel boys sure make for a messy house :)
